About our Atlanta Community

Atlanta Montessori International School is a leading Montessori school in Atlanta, Georgia offering childcare and Montessori education programs for infants from 8 weeks old to children through 15 years old. We pride ourselves on being an international community, with our student body representing 50 different countries. Atlanta Montessori International School offers before-school and after-school care as well as summer programs for children up to age 8 in the Atlanta community.

Visitors and locals alike will find that there is never a shortage of places to visit in Atlanta. For animal lovers, the Georgia Aquarium is a must-see! With over 100,000 animals, it is the second largest aquarium in the world. Visitors can watch a dolphin celebration show, participate in up-close encounters with dolphins, penguins, and sea otters, and take a behind-the scenes tour. Zoo Atlanta is another great place to visit. It is one of only four zoos in the United States that has a giant panda exhibit. Zoo Atlanta offers several memorable experiences, such as giraffe feedings and a children’s scavenger hunt.

The World of Coca-Cola a museum dedicated to the history of the Coca-Cola Company, is a unique place to visit. Visitors can sample more than 100 domestic and international Coca-Cola beverages and watch a 4-D movie about the Secret Formula in Coca-Cola. CNN Center, the world headquarters of CNN, is also located in Atlanta. Several of CNN’s broadcasts are filmed at this center, allowing visitors to tour active newsrooms.

Centennial Olympic Park is another popular tourist destination. The 1996 Summer Olympics were held at the Park, which is still used today. Several music concerts and events are held each year, including an annual Independence Day concert and fireworks show. Families will also enjoy visiting the Atlanta Botanical Garden, a 30-acre garden dedicated to maintaining and researching plant collections. The Garden is also very active in conservation efforts, developing a Green Expansion Plan to double the size of the Garden and preserve even more plants.

History fans will enjoy visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. Declared a Historic Site in 1980, the Site consists of multiple buildings, including King Jr.’s childhood home and the church where he was baptized. There is also a museum dedicated to the American Civil Rights Movement, as well as the “I Have a Dream” International World Peace Rose Garden.

Atlanta Montessori International School in Atlanta, Georgia offers the highest quality, individualized Montessori education experience. We are accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). In our Atlanta school, we provide our students with a carefully prepared Montessori environment, rich in authentic learning materials. Our teachers, referred to as guides, carefully observe each child and create a custom learning path for them.

At our Montessori school in Atlanta, we aim to develop the whole child, a well-rounded child with a strong sense of community and global awareness. In addition to our unique, individualized curriculum, we also offer several different enrichment activities. Students are given weekly art, music, and physical education classes. We also have a fulltime Spanish teacher who teaches our Lower and Upper Elementary classes, as well as a classroom assistant that speaks Spanish to children 80-90% of the time.

Downtown Atlanta is about a 20-minute drive from Atlanta Montessori International School. To get to Downtown Atlanta, get on I-85 S in Brookhaven. Follow I-85 S, passing Atlantic Station and Georgia Institute of Technology, then take exit 249A for Courtland St toward Georgia State University. Merge onto Courtland Street and then turn right onto Auburn Avenue – you are now in the heart of Downtown Atlanta!
